DIY: Invitation card inspired by dog Henri

Today we’re showing you how to create an adorable invitation card with wiggly ears, super easy to make yourself!
This one is inspired by our dog backpack, Henri.

You need:

  • Our free printable template
  • Scissors
  • Cutter
  • Glue
  • Decorative paper of your choice
  • Pen for writing your message

Instructions:

  1. Print the template, we recommend using thicker paper to give your card more stability
  2. Carefully cut out the dog’s head, ears, and tongue
  3. Use the cutter to make a small slit just below the dog’s nose
  4. Slide the tongue through the slit from the back to the front, so it sticks out of the mouth and the ears are visible at the top
  5. To keep the tongue in place, glue a small piece of paper over it from the back. Important: Only glue around the edges so the tongue stays movable and doesn’t get stuck!
  6. Now it's time for the decorative paper! Stick it to the back of the card but only about halfway down, so the tongue remains flexible.
  7. Now you can write your message on the card however you like!
  8. Finally, fold the ears forward over the dog’s face, then pull on the tongue! Ta-da! Your card is ready!

You can find a step-by-step video tutorial on our Instagram!

And just like that, you’ve made a personalized card with a super fun surprise effect, a hanging tongue and flippable ears!
Perfect as a craft project for kids or as a sweet handmade greeting card.
