DIY: Christmas Wreath Deer Alvy

When it starts getting dark earlier outside and the scent of cinnamon and fir slowly fills the house, the best time of the year begins: Christmas season. These small, cozy moments are exactly what we love so much and they keep inspiring new ideas. Don’t have a Christmas wreath yet? Then this is a great last-minute project. A DIY wreath like this can be made with little effort.
You need:
-
Our template
-
Paper plate
-
Light and dark green cardboard or normal paper
-
Scissors
-
Glue
-
Acrylic paint
-
Paintbrush
-
String
-
Small decorations (glitter, sequins, etc.)
-
Optional: A cup of water
If you’re working without our template, you’ll also need a pencil and ruler for the paper strips.
Instructions:
-
Cut out all parts of our template.
-
Cut a circle out of the center of the paper plate so that a ring remains.
-
Cut the green paper strips; they should be about 1.5 cm wide.
-
Thread the paper strips from underneath through the opening in the paper plate, pull them up, and glue the ends together. Repeat until a full wreath forms.
-
Cut small zigzags into the ends.
-
Now make the bow and glue it to the top of the wreath. You can find a detailed video tutorial here.
-
Reindeer Alvy can be printed in color right away or painted onto cardboard with acrylics. Glue it to the bottom of the wreath, opposite the bow.
-
Finally, cut a piece of string to hang up the wreath.
