DIY: Lion lantern inspired by lion Kaius

Saint Martin is just around the corner!
And what could be more wonderful than making your own lantern together with your children – especially one that’s as strong and brave as our lion Kaius? 🦁✨

You’ll need:

  • Our template

  • Glue

  • Scissors

  • Wire

  • Black felt-tip pen

  • Lantern stick

  • Sharp pencil

  • Light-colored cardboard

Instructions:

  1. Cut out all parts from our template
  2. The belly, hands and paws can be printed or drawn onto light-colored cardboard
  3. Use a sharp pencil to make a small hole at the marked spot on the side template
  4. Glue the cardboard and the transparent paper together for the head and body
  5. Use the first page of the template as a guide to see where each piece should be attached
  6. Draw the lion’s face with a black felt-tip pen
  7. Repeat the same steps for the back side
  8. Glue the side strips together along the markings and fold the flaps inward
  9. Now you can use the side template to glue the front and back together
  10. Finally, cut a small piece of wire and attach it to hang the lantern stick
